About California Toad
California toads are a subspecies of the Western toad. These robust toads range from greenish, tan, reddish brown, yellow or grayish with darker warts along the body and a light stripe down the back.
Habitat
Often found along the edge of water, toads enjoy basking on rocks or logs. They prefer moist habitats and be found in marshes, woodlands, forests, creeks, meadows, and even desert riparian regions.
Fun Fact
Toads absorb water through their skin instead of drinking.
