Master Plan

Extended West Expansion

Creating new gathering spaces, gardens, agricultural experiences, and opportunities to connect visitors with CALM Zoo’s landscape.

Phase 2

Extending CALM’s Landscape and Guest Experience

The Extended West Expansion builds beyond the new wildlife habitats of the West Expansion with spaces focused on events, gardens, agriculture, education, and visitor experiences.

The area is designed to complement CALM Zoo’s natural setting while creating new ways for guests to gather, learn, and engage with the landscape and the Zoo’s animal-care mission.

Extended West Expansion Overview

Events, Gardens, Agriculture, and Guest Experiences

The Extended West Expansion introduces flexible spaces that support community events, educational programming, agricultural experiences, animal-care operations, and connections to California’s native landscape.

Event Pavilion

A new multi-purpose event space will expand CALM Zoo’s programming and rental opportunities while creating a flexible gathering place that reflects the region’s agricultural heritage.

Botanical Garden

New gardens near the event arrival area will highlight California plants while creating welcoming spaces for guests, photography, education, and seasonal interest.

Farm Zone

Relocating the farm will create a dedicated agricultural experience with greater flexibility for educational programming, events, and animal interactions.

Browse Field

Browse fields and gardens will support CALM Zoo’s animal residents while also creating opportunities for visitors to learn about and participate in growing and harvesting animal browse.
